Rounders was pretty good, although my favorite poker movie is Casino Royale (James Bond film), although that may not count since it’s more geared towards action and spying.

All of these poker films are great buy my favirote poker movie of all time has to be, High Roller (the stu ungar story) made back in 2003.

I’m going to vote “Rounders” on #1!

Actualy what I don’t get is why are there no new Hollywoon prodcutions in the poker sceenL poker is hot…some make some great movies.

I am always thinking of that scene…

The “Kid” is waiting for the bus and he is reading a paper with outs and odds!
Even in that poker era, the good player new that there is no gambling but skills and knowledge.

Then I think that in now days… the knowledge of the Kid is the knowledge of a novice poker player. The skills… well… You tell me.

I agree with you about the Doc Holiday character. My favorite poker movie is an older one (also with a western theme) with a great cast. ‘A Big Hand for the Little Lady’ It’s worth finding and watching.

Rounders is my favorite poker flick, but my favorite poker playing character goes out to Doc Holiday from the movie Tombstone. He has some great one-liners.

Descrioption of Cincinnati Kid is wrong. He does not wish to exchange the dealer beacause he is cheating on him but because he is cheating in favor of the Kid and he wants to win honestly.
